1) How does being a member of the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association benefit me?
Through a number of initiatives the Association strives to improve the residential construction industry. Public education about home building, lobbying government, education and training for members and promoting careers in residential construction are just a few ways the Association can help your company.

2) How do I become a member?
Potential members must complete an application and give two references that are members of the Association. The Board of Directors then reviews the application and approves membership. If you are interested in becoming a member please contact our office at 955-5188.
3) What standards must be adhered to in order to become a member?
All potential members must be sponsored by a member of the Association and have references before being accepted. Members must be professional businesses who strive to better serve their customers. Builder members and RenoGuide members must also adhere to strict guidelines set out by the Association.

4) When becoming a member part way through the year, how much of the annual fee must be paid?
Upon joining the Association, a membership fee of $625 + GST is required. Membership in the following year is prorated to reflect months pre-paid in the 1st year.
5) May I use the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association logo on my website or with advertising my company does?
You may only use the association's logo if your company is a member. Logos are sent to all members with the directory every year. You can also contact the association at info@saskatoonhomebuilders.com or 955-5188.

6) When are General Meetings held?
General meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month from September to April. These meetings are an excellent opportunity to meet business associates, find out what's happening in the Association and in the residential construction industry.
7) How can I get involved with the Association?
The Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association Committees are the backbone of the Association. They are your forum to exchange ideas and review practices in the industry. To join a committee, contact the Committee Chairperson or the Association office.

8) Can non-members attend general or committee meetings?
Non-members can attend a general meeting as a guest with a member of the Association. Committee meetings can only be attended by employees of member companies who have been appointed to the committee.

The money the Association receives for Membership fees and money brought in through events goes towards several programs associated with our association:
- Home Builders' Career Development Fund and career promotion
- Staffing Costs
- CHBA and SHBA memberships for all members
- Research and meetings on policy issues with local and provincial Governments
- Bridges Awards Gala
- Canadian HBA Annual Conference
- HomeStyles: The Home Builders' Home Show
- Parade of Homes
- Saskatchewan Provincial Conference
- General Association expenses such as rent, computers and phones

If you are a member of the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association, you can go into the 'members only' area on the website. There is a publications tab that allows you to view or print the publications there. 16) How does one receive the password for the 'members only' website?
After your company has been accepted you will receive a membership password card in your new membership kit. If you have misplaced the password, contact the Association office.
